"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Release Date: 12th April, 2011
Strange things are happening in Maya's tiny Vancouver Island town. First, her friend Serena, the captain of the swim team, drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. Then, one year later, mountain lions are spotted rather frequently around Maya's home—and her reactions to them are somewhat . . . unexpected. Her best friend, Daniel, has also been experiencing unexplainable premonitions about certain people and situations. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret, and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy—her paw-print birthmark.
Why? Because I loved Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers trilogy and this is a spin off series to it. What I like most about Armstrong's books is that the plot always has you on the edge of your seat and the characters grow and develop as the series goes along.
What are you waiting on?

Ah I still have to read the Darkest Powers trilogy! I was waiting for the last book to come out before starting...but now I don't have that excuse anymore!
I haven't read any of Armstrong's YA books yet, but I love her Women of the Otherworld Series so I know this will be good! Great pick!
Can't wait for this one! Hope it's as good as DP. So glad Chole & gang are going to show up. Hopefully their scene isn't short. >:)
I really enjoyed the Darkest Powers trilogy too so I'm looking forward to this as well. Plus, Kelley is Canadian and so is the setting of The Gathering.
Awesome pick, Nic! I'm waiting on this one, too. Loved the Darkest powers trilogy, but still have to get ahold of the Reckoning. I love the cover as well.
Same here, I read The Reckoning not too long ago so can't wait for this new series.
I love Kelley Armstrong! This is definitely on my list!
