Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, weeks have passed and all of Sienna longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence—while the Florentines will go to great lengths to see them dead.
But Marcello patiently awaits, and Gabi must decide if she’s willing to leave her family behind for good in order to give her heart to him forever.

My Review:

Favourite Quote:  We stood there for a moment, people swirling around us, laughing, greeting one another, kissing on both cheeks in Italian fashion.  And our deep stare into each other's eyes was as intense as a kiss of our own.  It was like he was speaking to me, singing to me, all through that long, silent, sexy-as-all-get-out look.

Cascade is awesome.  It is another brilliant and addictive addition to what is quickly becoming one of my favourite series.  It has the perfect mix of adventure and romance making for a fully satisfying read.

I am still surprised at how captivated I am by this series especially since it is definitely kind of historical which is just not my thing at all.  But that just goes to show how much of a incredible writer Lisa Tawn Bergren is.  Her writing just keeps you completely captivated in this stunning tale.

The plot is fast paced that has a level of tension that constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat.  Even more than the first instalment.  It was like I could not read this fast enough.

I love spending time with these character as they bring humour and heart to this tale.  Gabi is still the same strong heroine who's strenght and loyalty is inspiring.  Marcello would have to be one of the kindest characters out there.  And just when you think you couldn't possible swoon any harder for him you do.  Then you have Lia and Luca and their banter provides lots of entertainment.

"Lia aimed shifted and waited watching one man peek out time and time again. She let her arrow fly anticipating his next peek at us and it pierced his eye.

“Okay that’s just going to make ’em mad ” I said.

“Three hundred and ninety-two ” she said to Luca tossing her braid over her shoulder and taking aim again.

“Saints in heaven ” he said to me rolling his eyes “how much deeper in love can I yet fall?
"

The romance was beautiful.  It made the romantic fool in me very very happy. Gabi and Marcello's relationship is sweet and tender.  They definitely have that out of ordinary dreamy type of love.

Overall, Cascade was a perfect reading escape.   It is passionate, meaningful and magical. The only problems is I need Torrent like right NOW!

I have missed this series, but am definitely going to have to correct this oversight as I love a good historical fiction + romance.

*slaps self*

Why haven't I read book one yet? I feel the same, like historical is not my thing. But I liked being surprised by books, and this series has been getting such high praise from bloggers whose opinions I really trust.

The banter and the humor and the harder swooning all make me want to read this now.

Awesome quotes. Thanks for giving us a little sneak peek.

Ahhh! I must read this series! I feel like I'm falling so far behind and missing out on all these amazing books. I need to read these and the Heist Society books for sure:) I love when a series that's a genre you usually don't read much of really blows you away:) Awesome review Nic!

Huzzah! I'm so glad you felt CASCADE met the mark, Nic. And I adore that I have new blogger friends who share my passion for these characters...I can't get enough of them, and I love it that you can't either. Trying to focus on my new adult series right now while my heart longs--LONGS--to return to medieval Italy and the Betarrinis and Forellis.

Let's get you TORRENT, shall we??

And you're swaying me. *grins*

I love the quotes that you posted. If those capture the romance and adventure, then I'm all aboard. I have to find this series! I will definitely be needing the escape once things get super busy at work. ;)

Your review makes this one seem even better than Waterfall. I find sequels rarely as good as the first one but I'm really looking forward to reading this series. I just need to find the time to read because I've been working so much that in my free time I can't help but chill with TV rather than a book :(

Great review, Nic. Luca sounds awesome from the quote you've put up.

I always get a little anxious about sequels, but your review makes me think Cascade may be just as good as its predecessor.

Great review!

Yes! I'm so happy you loved it! I don't think it's possible to swoon harder over Luca than I already am. I would be all over a spin off series told from Lia's POV.
