IN MY MAIL BOX

Sunday, October 24, 2010

I thought I would try out some memes until I figured out my blog style.  In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie.

I bought all this lovely books from my favourite little bookstore called 'The Really Good Bookstore'.  I did have eight in my hands originally and then I cut it down to four otherwise I don't think I would have been let in the house.

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner - The Maze Runner blew my mind and no doubt this will too.
The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos - A vampire tale that I'm sure that will fill my craving for a good YA paranormal romance.  Also a debut novel of 2010.
Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta - Big fan of Marchetta as you all know.  Can't wait to read see her take on fantasy as she usually does complicated contemporary fiction.  An Aussie author, yay!
Raw Blue by Kristy Eagar - I have read some great reviews for this Aussie title.  So far it is gut wrenching but really good.

Also this week I have changed my blog layout.  I think the lighter colour background makes it easier to read.  Eventually I will change it to something that reflects me a little better.

What books did you get this week?

Yay! Raw Blue and Finnikin. The James Dashner novel looks pretty good, too.

I'm also loving your new layout <3

Fantastic books this week! I really need to read Finnikin of the Rock. I was lucky enough to meet Melina a few years ago and have her sign a copy of Jelicoe Road! Hope you enjoy all of your books! Happy reading!

And I know what you mean about trying to find your blogs flavour - me too! I don't do any memes, haha, but I actually love reading peoples IMM posts - feels exciting for some reason!

Thanks everybody for the comments so far. You are all making me so feel welcome in the blogging world :)

@ Story Siren - I would love to Melina Marchetta. I am hoping when she writes her next book she does a signing near me.

@ Nomes - I love your blog layout especially the photos at the top. I thinking keeping it simple works best. I just changed mine because the other colours seemed to harsh to look at.

I love reading other peoples IMM although there is alot of drooling with envy.
